Ray Giolitto, our church moderator, said in an email a little while ago that he hopes to provide a "a brief history as to why we are at this point" sometime tomorrow morning. That way people can at least understand the driving issues involved before we all get more detail on Sunday.
Ray said, too, that he knows the choices on the table hurt very much.
I'm sure I'm not alone in appreciating his willingness to provide some direction here so we can all understand better what's going on. I don't know if we'll all agree on the best course to take -- well, actually, I'm pretty sure we won't -- but I have no doubt that a deeper understanding will help ensure that we all try to look at the situation objectively and clearly. That's always good.
